How to perform the EZ-Bar Preacher Curl (Wide Grip)

  1. 1Sit on the preacher bench with your chest against the pad, place your upper arms flat on the pad, and grab the EZ bar with a wide, underhand grip so your hands are near the angled bends. Let your arms straighten most of the way down so the bar hangs below the pad, keeping your shoulders relaxed and chest tall.
  2. 2Curl the bar up toward your shoulders by bending your elbows, squeezing your biceps at the top and moving in about 1–2 seconds. Lower the bar back down in 2–3 seconds under control, stopping just before your elbows lock, breathing out as you curl up and in as you lower down.

  • Keep your upper arms glued to the pad so the movement stays in your elbows, not your shoulders or lower back.
